40 million dollars of glasswool plant investment has been completed successfully in a year.

ODE glasswool production plant began to operate as the second largest of Turkey

The furnace ignition of ODE Insulation’s glasswool production plant found in Çorlu last year, has been implemented with a ceremony.

The production capacity of facilities in which glasswool, one of the most common used materials in insulation industry, will be produced is 500.000 m3. ODE’s investment is one of the biggest investments of 2008 with a value of 40 million dollars.

Orhan Turan, Chairman of ODE Insulation, said that they are proud to present Turkish economy and construction industry, a glasswool production facility that has been built with 40 million dollars of investment which will provide 20 million dollars of value to the Turkish economy.

Turan mentioned that blanket, slab and pipe section of glasswool production will be performed and, “We completed our investment which we made last year after a careful and strict process. Due to our schedule set before, we substantiated ignition of our furnace which we named after a well-known Goddess in mythology “HERA”, on  October 7, 2008. In the beginning, the stove will be heated at ambient temperature and will be increased up to 1500 degrees by progressive stages within three weeks. ODE Glassglass Stove “HERA” will release its first product in October. We are going to start with blanket and slab glasswool production. We are going to continue with pipe section of glasswool production in January 2009.

Turan mentioned that the plant has total amount of 21 thousand production capacity consisting 20 thousand tons of blanket and one thousand tons of slab in the first phase; “Our goal is to increase our capacity up to 30 thousand tons within 3–4 years. It is going to be 50 thousand tons in the future.”

What is glasswool, in which fields can it be used?
Glasswool, one of most common used products in insulation industry, is fire proof glass fibers which can be bent and used in heat and sound isolations. It can be produced as cast, pipe, blanket, slab and various plated materials which can be in different size and density due to its field of use and purpose. It provides heat isolation, sound isolation and acoustic coordination.  The dimensions don’t change even it is exposed to heat and moisture. It does not shatter, get rotten or mold, oxidize and can not be damaged by insects or microorganisms. 

Glasswool can be benefited in fields such as residents and industrial facilities, out wall insulations, in wall sound insulations, sound and heat insulation on roofs, yachting, floor insulations in automotive sector, gyms, pipe insulations, planes, warehouses, computer rooms, conference rooms and  apiculture.
